Aiee~~!! Did anyone know CDs in Japan cost so much? =_=;;;; I was at CD Japan and I assume their prices are pretty much accurate. The standard kind of price for a new album, by a well-known artist, is 3059Yen. That's about AUS$50! ;_; I thought they'd be expensive, but that seems so high ... I was planning to buy lots of CDs! Just random kind of ones, because I don't know many Jpop artists in particular, but I love most of it. Now I don't know if I can risk buying one I won't like for that kind of price! I will just have to settle for a couple, I guess, and probably figure them out before I go too (my Japanese is ok for minor interactions but I think "I want to listen to this cd but not necessarily buy it" is a bit beyond me). Aaaahh~~ I am losing the wonderful spontaneity thing! ;_; Of being able to wander around CD stores and judge them totally by their cover and if I've vaguely heard of the artist before!! ;_; the sadness ....... Alright, I'm over-reacting a bit. I'm sure (right? right??) there will be some stores I can find that sell them for a bit less. Anyway if I have to pay up a little ^^;;; it's a once-for-a-long-time opportunity so it's worth it.

On this subject a bit more, are there any compilation CDs in Japan? Sounds like a very strange question but on CD Japan I can't find any. That kind of thing - one with lots of recent popular songs - would be exactly what I want, lots of variety so it's hard to be disappointed! (usually even more expensive though ....) Well I'll just have to see when I'm there. Hmm, must go look up the Japanese for 'compilation' so I can spot them ..... *runs off*
